Waves In Motion XI: How I Got This Shot
Share
honestly this one still gets me every time i look at it, there's something about the way the wave is moving that just looks almost too perfect, like you'd think it was edited but it's not, that's just what the ocean did that morning and i was lucky enough to be there with the camera.
i'd been in the water for a while already, conditions were kind of average honestly, the waves weren't doing much and i was starting to think it was going to be one of those sessions where you come home with nothing usable. and then it just happened, this wave came through and the light hit it at exactly the right angle and i just knew the second i pressed the shutter that something was there.
shooting in the ocean is like that though, you can plan all you want but the best frames come when you're not really thinking about it, when you're just present and reacting. i think that's what i love most about ocean photography, it's one of the few things that actually forces me to switch off because if you're not paying attention you miss it, simple as that.
this print is available in a few different sizes and it's one of those ones that i think looks best big, like it needs space to breathe, a smaller version is fine but if you've got a wall that can take it, go big with this one. grab a print of Waves In Motion XI here if it's something you've been thinking about.
