Behind The Curtain

This frame captures a surfer nose riding from behind the curtain of water. I was in the water creating when I realised the visibility was good enough to go under, so I changed my settings and went to work. I didn't have a mask, so I had no choice but to open my eyes and frame the shots barely seeing — but years of practice paid off. When the first surfer went past on the nose, I went under, lined it up, and waited. The shutter clicked and it was over. I looked at the back of the camera and I knew I had it.

About this print

Printed on hand-selected fine art paper using 100-year archival pigment inks, each piece in this edition is built to last generations, not just years. The paper is chosen for each image individually, selected for how it holds light, depth, and tone rather than defaulting to a single stock.

This is a Limited Edition of 23. Once the edition is sold, this print will never be produced again at this size.
